Dear future Masonites,
The past month has been a whirlwind of exams and getting work done for my classes that Thanksgiving Break came at just the right time. Although Mason has become my new home, its always nice to go home for a couple days, sleep in your own bed, get some homecooked meals (Southside and all the other dining places on campus are amazing, but nothing beats a good homecooked meal), and be around friends and family. But when the last day of break arrived and it was time to head back to Fairfax, I was excited to be heading back. Now that I’m back on campus the whirlwind of activity has come to an abrupt stop. Today is the first time in weeks that I don’t have anything due and I can sit back and watch TV and not worry about a paper or homework that I should be doing. It’s crazy to think that in 3 weeks I will be done my first semester of college and endured my first finals week…but I’m not going to think about that just yet.
Now that it’s almost December, I can finally put up my Christmas decorations! Alot of people don’t bother to decorate or do anything to their dorms, but at the beginning of the school year I decided that just because I wouldn’t be at home in PA during the holidays, I wasn’t going to let that stop me from celebrating. So after Thanksgiving break, I came back to Mason arm loaded with garland, lights, and cookie mix. December doesn’t mean just the start of my favorite holiday season, its also the start of track season. Which as the year progresses you will see is my favorite season!! Speaking of track, I have to go get ready for practice!
